Neighbourhood Watch Australasia
National Public Awareness Campaign
Project Overview
When Neighbourhood Watch Australasia (NHWA) needed a national campaign to tackle one of the most critical issues facing parents today: online child safety. They teamed up with WeMOV to create a multi-platform Community Service Announcement (CSA) campaign designed to help Australian families understand and respond to the growing risks of online exploitation.
Spanning TV, radio, and social media, the focus was entirely on empowering parents with practical, everyday advice. By blending emotionally driven storytelling with cinematic visuals and authentic family moments, we transformed a deeply sensitive subject into clear, actionable conversations every family can have.

The Challenge
Online child exploitation is one of the fastest-growing digital threats in Australia, yet many parents feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start. The big hurdle was communicating an extremely confronting topic without causing panic, fear, or viewer tune-out.
The client’s objective was to balance emotional weight with realistic solutions. Instead of leaning into alarmist messaging, we needed to show parents clear, doable steps – like tweaking privacy settings, monitoring online time, opening lines of communication, and knowing where to turn for help. Plus, because this was a national push across television, radio, and digital channels, every message had to be punchy, universally relatable, and adaptable for families with kids of all ages.
Our Creative Approach
From day one, our creative strategy was built on swapping fear for empowerment. Rather than bombarding viewers with heavy statistics, we crafted narrative-driven scenarios that invited audiences into authentic, warm family moments.
Each spot focused on a single, actionable behaviour parents could easily adopt at home. We used cinematic storytelling- soft lighting, rich color palettes, and intimate camera angles – to create a familiar, grounded world where safety felt manageable. Backed by warm, professional voice talent and an emotive soundtrack, every 30-second film delivered a clear, memorable message that guided families straight toward ACCCE’s support resources.
Bringing It to Life (Production)
Handling such a sensitive subject meant working hand-in-hand with NHWA stakeholders to ensure every nuance hit the right tone. We developed five distinct campaign concepts targeting different aspects of digital safety, carefully mapping out scripts and storyboards for maximum flexibility.
On set, we focused on natural performances and relatable Australian environments to keep the content grounded. Every concept was designed from the ground up for seamless adaptation- turning hero TV commercials into punchy 15-second social edits, broadcast radio ads, and digital content suites while keeping a unified visual and emotional identity across every screen.
What We Delivered
We delivered a comprehensive, broadcast-ready national asset package featuring five 30-second TV Community Service Announcements, five 15-second TV cutdowns, five professional radio commercials, complete creative strategy, script writing and storyboards, full video production and post-production, custom social media campaign assets for Facebook, Instagram, and Stories, and full broadcast delivery files.
The Key Takeaway
Highly sensitive topics don’t have to rely on fear to create real impact. By combining thoughtful creative strategy, cinematic production values, and relatable human storytelling, we helped turn a confronting issue into an empowering, action-focused national campaign that gives families the tools to keep their kids safe.
